Abstract: An overview on converging sciences and technologies that are the primary drivers of the modern economies will be presented, followed by the new developments in nano science and technology, bio science and technology, information science and technology and cognitive sciences. Convergence of these and other transformative and translational technologies will be discussed. Emphases are on global science and engineering research, nano mechanics and materials, bio-engineering, smart materials and multi-scale problems as well as simulation methods.
