»ã±¨ÌáÒª£ºThe phenomenon of Bose-Einstein condensation £¨BEC£©was predicted theoretically by Bose and Einstein in 1924. It is a state of matter in which, at low enough temperatures, a macroscopic number of particles occupies the lowest energy state. It is caused by the quantum statistics of bosons only and is therefore purely quantum mechanical. In this talk, I would like to describe the mathematical theory behind, and review (some) recent results obtained in this field. I will also mention main open problems.
