Scientific visualization and virtual reality are a collection of technologies for users to interact efficiently with 3D computerized environments in real time using their natural senses and skills. Virtual reality is, therefore, an ideal tool for research and application fields which require a combination of understanding, conceptualization and practical experience. Moreover, virtual reality can circumvent the problems of scheduling, individualized instruction and supervision, physical requirements (facilities, equipment, and supplies), and geography and space constraint. Therefore, the advances in VR technology along with concomitant system cost reductions have benefited many fields such as education, medical training and health care, manufacturing, military, and entertainment.
