½²×ù:   Advanced specialty fibers and applications

Ñݽ²ÕߣºMarc Douay½ÌÊÚ, ·¨¹úÀï¶û¿Æ¼¼´óѧ

Ñݽ²Õß¼ò½é£ºMarc Douay received the Ph.D. degree in spectroscopy from the University of Science and Technology of Lille, France, in 1986. In 1988, he joined the Laboratoire de Physique des Lasers, Atomes et Molécules (PhLAM), where he worked on nonlinear optics and photosensitivity in fibers. In 1998, he became Professor and took the direction of the photonic group. His research on photosensitivities of glasses and Bragg grating inscriptions in waveguides was supported by contracts. A collaboration of over ten years with Alcatel has been established on photosensitivity and Bragg grating assisted components. Three technologic transfers were made on photosensitivity: to France Telecom, CEA Saclay and Alcatel. Since 2003, his research interests have been on photonic crystal fibers for new applications. This new direction has involved the creation of a new technology platform dedicated to advanced specialty fibers. The fiber facilities of the group have different equipment: MCVD and OVD lathes, fiber drawing towers, and numerous benches and equipment to measure and characterize the fibers. He published more than 110 papers and 150 communications in congress and organizes several congress and workshop.

½²×ùÌáÒª(Abstract)£ºIn this talk, Professor Marc Douay will give us an overview of recent research progress on several specialty optical fibers and their applications, including few mode fibers and amplifiers and their applications in spatial division multiplexing, top hat beam output of single mode PCF, topographic fibers and nonlinear optics, supercontinuum sources which were performed in the photonics group of Laboratoire de Physique des Lasers, Atomes et Molécules (PhLAM), University Lille 1.
