Ross Coomber, PhD is Professor (Chair) of Sociology
at Plymouth University (UK)  http://www.plymouth.ac.uk/staff/rcoomber where he
is also Director of the Drug and Alcohol Research Unit. Ross" primary research
focus for the last 26 years has been on illicit drug use; drug markets;
treatment interventions and drug policy and he has published and taught
extensively on these areas and acted as an expert advisor on policy and research
to policy makers at both the local and national level. He is currently
undertaking a 26 day tour of 6 Asian countries (India, Malaysia, Indonesia,
Japan, South Korea and China - in that order) to explore the nature and meaning
of public
spitting.
