The new generation of warehouses will be fully robotized. Managers can select from different competitive robotic techniques to fulfill the customer orders. In my talk, I will give an overview of new and current automated order picking methods and systems and compare them for use and fit. Recently, models have been developed, which can help to analyze performance of robotic order picking systems and subsequently optimize systems for costs, throughput and response time. The models can also be used to compare the most popular robotic techniques.
